Unfair

This will be a short blog…but I had to get something off my mind
At Saturday’s long group run, I thought it was totally cool that we had aid stations set up at the major mile markers. At mile 3 I shot down a packet of the Chocolate Indulgence Goo…I’m putting that stuff on ice cream next time - YUMMY! And…to have the Gatorade and water = fabulous!
Anyways, unlike the actual race on May 10th…we have no access to the portable restrooms, aka ‘port-a-potties’, at our Saturday long runs. Being a girl, I find it totally unfair that our male counterparts have the simple luxury of veering off the path and finding a cozy tree. I saw it happen a couple of times on Saturday and it really made me mad - my eyeballs were floating at about mile 9 or 10. But I think in the grand scheme of things it made the last few miles go a bit faster…knowing that the chance to pee was not far ahead! LOL!
I’ve heard interesting stories from people who have ran marathons…they say that you see the strangest things - people totally dropping trouw on the side of the road without a second thought.
I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!

Lol–Kristin–Just so you know for next time–the portable restrooms at Millenium Park were available (well, we found ONE, at least!) (off the Maynard entrance–by the playground)–my running partners needed ‘em so one of them had already scouted it out for our way back! Just an fyi for the next time! ![]()

Just wear dark clothing and tell people you sweat a lot…that’ll do the trick. I fact I’m going now at my cubicle and no one knows! You’re welcome in advance.

Depends. Do they make those for runners? Adult runner’s huggies? That’s great that you could keep smiling through that challenge.

Don’t drink the yellow liquid in the sports beverage bottle on the side of the road before the race. That’s not sports beverage. You will find the far side of those little oil pump shanties on Kent Trail by the river very user friendly on race day, before and beyond. I too have had this “fun” experience and usually plan my routes accordingly. We have a great route in West Bloomfield that passes CVS and several parks/schools/gas stations. Churches and synagogs (not so many of the later in GR) are great rest stops too! Ball diamonds . . . a girl is always on the look out! Chat up your fellow female runners - we’re full of potty directories - lol

Makes the phrase “pee like a racehorse” really hit home, eh? LOL. My bladder started screaming at me during the first pass of Millennium Park. I kept checking out places to stop alongside the road, but “hovering” isn’t my forte.
