Training Run
Posted by Kristin Linscott under: Kristin Linscott .
This morning was totally fun! Although I hate getting up so darn early, it was totally worth it!
Having participated in today’s official 15K Training Run, I’m feeling more confident than ever…May 10th will be a challenge, but I know that I will cross that finish line on two feet…ready for the beer tent
Props to Bob for doing an AMAZING job today! I hadn’t really gotten the opportunity to get to know you yet - running together today was so much fun! You are doing a great job…KEEP IT UP! And AWESOME job to everyone else - you are all wonderful! It is the best feeling seeing your team, coaches and fellow runners at the finish line cheering you on. And not to mention the complete strangers along the race course - I used to think that it was total cheese-ball standing there and cheering on the runners, but now I totally understand. You get fired up, regardless if you know that person or not…it just keeps the fire burning and helps you push through to the end.
My mom asked me today what I was planning to do after I finish on May 10th. I told her that I’m going to keep going…not only because I’m absolutely loving running and the comraderie that comes along with it…but also because I don’t want to throw away the long, hard hours of training that I’ve put in. I’m on a roll, so why stop now. I know there are a couple of races over the summer that I can be part of…and of course there is the GR Marathon in October. Not sure if I’ll do the entire thing - maybe I will but will probably have to walk at some point! But at least do 1/2 Marathon…that’s a great goal, and if I can do more, I’ll go for it!
Oh, and it was wonderful to have the bathrooms at the aid stations today. Though I didn’t use one, it was a nice though knowing that they were there!
