So far…So good!

Hello again! See I told you I would get caught up on my blogging!
Well, so far, so good with my training for River Bank that is. I am so incredibly grateful for being selected as part of the Road Warrior team. I know I would not be doing this well and going the distances that I am if it were not for my teammates and terrific coaches! We have a great team and I look forward to seeing us all at the finish line.
This weekend the long run for beginners is 6 miles, and I’ve actually been able to go beyond that so my goal long run this Sunday will be 8 miles! That is just over 1/2 of River Bank! Yes! And it is only February!
Last Saturday, I opted to run on the bike paths in Ada. These trails have some really good hills and the township keeps them very clear, which is WONDERFUL!!! Especially since Western Michigan has been receiving quite a bit of snow lately, which makes training challenging and comical! Challenging for obvious reasons, but comical because you get to hear all of the excuses as to why people are not getting out and running or walking. I too must admit, when the temporature goes below 10 degrees, I’m on the treadmill myself. Its funny how in my 20’s I would run in almost ANY weather. Now that I’m, well, 40 something, I seem to be a lot more concerned with preventing injuries. I REALLY want to finish the River Bank this year, so I am being causious when it comes to running in the winter.
Okay, now I’m chatting too much!
Thanks again for taking the time to read and please be sure to send any comments or feedback! WE would all love to hear from YOU!
