Size 31
Posted by Terrence York under: Terrence York (Coach) .
When I first started running again about two years ago I weighed about 205 pounds and my waist size was getting real close to a size 38. I lost about 35 pounds since then and all my pants were falling down to my knees like the some of the younger generations wear their pants now days. I thought I was being hip until I was informed I wasn’t a young kid anymore.
I don’t really care to go shopping for clothes much less to the grocery store so my wife gave me two pair of size 31 jeans for Christmas. I really thought there is no way that I am going to fit in a size 31. I thought when I was going to try to put them on I was going to fall flat on my face like when you put on way to small pants on and your foot or leg don’t even go all the way though the pant leg and you loose your balance and bam, face meets the floor. I was very lucky that this didn’t happen to me. Both pair of pants fit very well. I think the last time I ever wore a size 31 is way way back in like the seventh grade. I couldn’t belive it. I guess all the training for last years 5/3 River Bank Run, GR Marathon, and this years 5/3 River Bank Run is paying off in such a great healthy way.
I was told about three months ago that I looked sickly. It took me by surprised because here I am training and being able to eat just about anything and keep my weight down I thought I was doing really good. Then I thought about it and the person who said this doesn’t run or do any type of excercise. So I took it with a grain of salt and told that person it isn’t like I run to the bathroom after everytime I eat and throw up.
I am a firm believer in if a person excercises, runs and watches their calorie intake they will lose weight. It may take a few months or even a couple of years like me but persistance pays off. I know my run time has improved since losing the pounds and I feel really good.

I have to agree Terry. It’s so important to just MOVE! I’ve been tracking the calories I’ve been buring while running, and figured that I burned over 700 calories during my seven-mile run yesterday. Results won’t appear right away, but if you stick with it long enough, you’ll start to see a difference. Start now, and think of where you’ll be come spring!

Terry–great job making a LIFESTYLE change–not just a temporary change–to get healthy. You don’t look sickly, and now I’ve seen you eat, so I’m not worried about you!!! Did we ever say congrats on beating Mike out for the Pizza Challenge?
It was nice chatting after the Saturday run!
