MERRY CHRISTMAS
Posted by Terrence York under: Terrence York (Coach) .
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. On Sunday Mike and I met Kristen and Nick at East Grand Rapids and ran 4 miles in the nice wintery weather we had. Way to go Kristen and Nick. While running we saw a fellow runner in shorts. Now I thought that was just a little to cold and windy for me. I figured if you train in any weather condition you’ll be ready for any type of weather on race day.
The following day on Christmas Eve morning I met Mike at the Ymca. I ran a long five miles. I thought maybe it would take about 30 minutes to and 45 minutes but I had to stop to the bathroom after every mile. Note to myself never I mean never eat Kielbasa the night before a run especially a long run. The night before a long run I usually watch what I eat so that doesn’t happen. I figured it is the holidays and I’ll be indoors with a bathroom near by so what the heck. In conclusion no Kielbasa for me until next year on Pulaski day.

Thanks to Mike and Terry for braving the cold and keeping Kristen and me company that cold, blizzardly Sunday morning. Once we got going, we warmed up quickly. It was only four miles, but it was the longest I had run since my broken angle in September. So I’ll chock it up as a small accomplishment.

Oh Terry. . . I know what you’re saying. We did a 10 mile run on Pulaski Weekend a few years ago. My husband Tim had a little too much kielbasa the night before. He was mighty happy to find a porta john as we ran through Aquinas College!
Kielbasa and running just don’t mix!

Nice work, you made it through. Or, should I say the kielbasa made it through!
