Meet Deborah Pieri
Deborah Pieri, 51
Deb is a mother of six, third grade teacher and fitness instructor. She is a veteran runner with ten years experience, including seven Fifth Third River Bank Run 25K events and three marathons. In 2005, her world was shaken when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She turned to God and continued to run through her treatments. There were times that she was so weak she could only run two blocks before needing a rest — her husband always by her side, running and encouraging her. Deb crossed the Fifth Third 25K finish line with her husband in 2007 at 2:30. Although she felt like she has won, she now wants to cross the finish line with an even better time.
