Make It A Dozen
Posted by Steve Kelly under: Steve Kelly .
Want to guess how many times in my life I’ve run 12 miles all at once? Well, if you count Saturday’s long run with Run Gazelle, that would be one time. Daunting as it was going in, I managed to pull it off . I’d like to thank Kathy and her group for pacing me going out and Bruce for pacing me back in. It was a out and back and I’ll be danged if I didn’t speed up six minutes on the second six. Just like last week, I hooked up with fun and informative people that helped make the time go by. Join Run Gazelle.
I live closer to the park in Bellmont than I thought and can’t wait to run on that trail again. It was so beautiful with the snow and bright skies, especially along the river in the Rockford area. I would imagine that the trail is a little busier in July than early March in single digits! Man it was cold. Although it was very expensive I’m glad I snagged a winter weight Under Armour shirt. It does a great job of keeping me warm on the coldest days and always gets rid of moisture.
On Sunday many of the Road Warriors hooked up at Buffalo Wild Wings to compare notes and gobble goodness. It’s cool to be on a team working toward the same goal. We’re all getting closer with each others help. A special thanks to our coaches Mike and Terry for giving their time and valuable advice.
I’ll miss the Jig and long run with you this weekend. I’m up North with family, but I’ll be with you in spirit. I did something I’ve never done before this weekend and it feels great. I can’t wait to see what I can do next!

Hey, I’m a girl–part of what makes running great is the cool gear, ok?
