Great Run

Posted by Steve Kelly under: Steve Kelly .

Another fun outing on Saturday with the Road Warriors.  I was thinking after a crazy week at work that an 8am run on Saturday morning might be too much.  It turned out to be just the opposite.  It stoked me up for the rest of the day.  I got done stuff I’d put off all week.  I guess my wife telling me I had to helped motivate me as well!  Special thanks to Julie who went an extra mile with me that I needed for my training schedule.  Check out her blog for a great new book about running.

I had a good week training.  I’ve been running every other day and saving longer runs for the weekend.  Everything still feels good too.  I feel for those of you nursing injuries.  A couple of our Road Warriors are hurt too.  There is still plenty of time before the race so hold on and take it slow.  I usually have some left knee pain and achilles issues but, not now.  I need to thank Dr. Shafer at Harrison Chiropractic for my orthotics.  They’ve really made the difference this year.  If you’ve not had someone look at your arches, they’re a great team.

Thank you all who came out to Craig’s Cruisers this week for the kick off!  It’s very motivating to see so many of you with the same goal.  Remember this year there’s a 10k too if you’re looking for something in the middle.  If you’re not a runner but want to be involved and get in better shape, the 10,000 steps program kicks butt too.  Last year my partner Sabrina did it and we even got to start the walk.  There’s more about all of this back at the homepage.

Keep training!
