FLORIDA!

Posted by Kristin Linscott under: Kristin Linscott .

So holding to my promise I made to my Road Warriors last weekend at BW3’s…I have been kicking butt keeping up with my training although I am soaking up the sun in the 80 degree heat of Florida!  I thought it was going to be a killer…but it really wasn’t all that bad!

I got into Orlando on Wednesday and didn’t make it to my hotel room until really late - traveling all day pretty much pooped me out.  We had a few sessions yesterday and in the afternoon I set out for my first run in the hot, humid, BEAUTIFUL weather.

Okay, so one lap around the resort’s lake is .75 mile.  I did 6 laps, which would be 4.5 miles.   Not too bad my first time in the heat…and trying to dodge swarms of nasty bug-like gnats - GROSS!  I could have pushed more mileage out, but I could feel myself getting dehydrated and needed to stop.  Just not use to this weather!

So I’m off in about an hour to run about 3 miles…tomorrow’s long run will be 9 miles, or a boring 12 laps around.  I figure I’ll do 6 one way and 6 the other so I don’t get dizzy :)

I’m here until next week Wednesday, so I’ll try to blog a few more times through then.

My update after my 9 miles tomorrow should be an interesting one.  :)

It’s great that you’re able to keep up the training while you suffer in the warm weather. I’m jealous! Have a safe long run.

Hey Kristen. . . it was fun last Sunday! Can’t imagine running in humidity! The last couple of days have been pretty nice running weather. I think it is supposed to be OK for the Irish Jig tomorrow. Have fun and keep us up to date!

So Kristin–How did your 9 go??? Hopefully it was awesome in the FL sunshine–and hopefully not too humid yet! Bring back about 10 extra degrees for us, would ya? :)
