EXCITED!
Posted by Kristin Linscott under: Kristin Linscott .
At this particular moment, I’m not sure if I’m more excited about the amazing journey I will be taking with my fellow Road Warriors over the next 6 months…or if I’m more excited about the food and sangria at our team dinner tonight at San Chez! :) Totally kidding…but since I’ve been fasting all day in preparation for tonight’s get-together, the food does seem to be a priority.
I absolutely cannot wait to see everyone tonight! It’s been a couple of weeks since our first ‘official’ meeting - I was amazed to see how much passion and excitement we each have in our individual purpose behind wanting to be a Road Warrior. This is going to be an experience that we will all remember for the rest of our lives and I am so thankful to have been blessed with this opportunity.
A little about my running background…well, thanks to my fabulous co-workers, I’m hooked! Together, we ran the Fifth Third 5K in May and then the Grand Rapids Marathon Team Relay in October. I trained for the 5K…not so much for the Relay. Showing up to run a little over 4 miles without having done anything for more than 2 months prior…well, I didn’t keel over and pass out during the run, thankfully (trust me, I did that when I got home after Laurie, Jen, Brett and I pigged out at Red Robin). But seriously, I actually did pretty well!
Anyways, I started bouncing around the idea that I might actually train and run a 25K. I just needed that extra push. I needed an opportunity that would challenge me. I needed something or someone to hold me accountable. At that point, I just wasn’t sure what that opportunity would be or how it would present itself. So, I guess when I heard the Road Warrior promo on the radio, I was a little bit weirded out…you know how they say that everything in life happens for a reason. It was the perfect opportunity…and I am SO EXCITED!
I can’t imagine that by this time next year, I will be able to say I ran a 25K!
And Julie…I’m right there with ya…bring on the sangria!

Hi Kristin!
I didn’t talk to you at dinner because we were sitting at opposite ends of the table. How was the sangria, by the way? Just wanted to let you know I’m looking forward to running with you and learning more about you!
