Checking In

Hey all,
Felt bad about missing the training run Saturday. We did 15 miles along the Pacific Ocean on Sunday. I didn’t feel great. . . jet lag and tired, but I ran fine. The heel hasn’t been too bad. Our son Joe is nursing some tendinitus . . . . so the two of us have our ice. We’ve run everyday. . . .always some place new. The incredible palm trees, intoxicating flowers, and beautiful architecture makes it hard to pay attention to running form! Tim picked some honeysuckle the other day and stuck it in my hair as we were running and I kept catching it’s fragrance as we ran. We’ve done some huge hills, but I am happy to say that I ran all the way up without stopping!
Today we will either head toward the desert, a vineyard, or Tim wants to go to LA. The weather is perfect for running. . . not too hot. Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter though. Tomorrow we get to see Sam finally for family day. Tim and I tried to get on the base on our run the other day, but a giant of a marine said no way, not till Thursday. Friday is graduation and then we will fly all night and get in by about noon on Saturday.
We’ve done so much in the few days we’ve been here . . . . Drove to the border. . . Joe tried to touch the fence. . . border patrol did not like that, did the San Diego Zoo, the Pompei exhibit, Balboa Park (I could stay there all day. . everyday), Old Town, toured 5 old ships, went to art galleries, shopping, Little Italy, the Ocean and of course lots of running and walking everyday! Having a blast! See you all soon road warriors!

We’re so glad you’re having fun Deb! I’m jealous of all the great runs you are doing. I love San Diego! Have fun a family day today. Make sure your son takes you over to a sand pit to watch a platoon get thrashed. The dust cloud will be quite impressive.
P.S. If you go to Tijuana, GET OUT BEFORE DARK!

Deb–way to keep up the running on vacation! Hope you are having a great time out there with your sons and with Tim! I have no stellar advice like SuperMike here does.
