I was reflecting today about the work that we all have put in since being named a “road warrior”.  Here are the stats that I have come up with.

2 pairs of running shoes

314 miles of long runs (22 long runs)

22 Saturdays waking up when I should have been sleeping

37 Treadmill runs

915 Miles training (including long runs)

100658 Calories Spent

Starting Weight 187

Ending Weight 179.5 

I’m ready to go.

 Road warrior or not….if you are  running Saturday you have certainly paid your dues this year …..I’ll ask a favor…….Post up below with your own stats.   I’m just curious…….example Dopke could list 2 casts.

830 miles since November 8th (I had to take some time off with the broken wrist) This includes about 2,000 laps on the Y track.

1 skateboard (for cross training) which led to…

2 casts (as previously noted) + a blue muppet named Fred and a regular brace.

5 pairs of running shoes (I rotate)

66 packets of GU

30 spicy garlic chicken wings

9 new friends (Shelly doesn’t count cause I’ve known her since kindergarten)

Don’t know miles, long runs, etc. I just remember it being mostly cold.

Encounters with: 1 calf, 1 rooster, 1 mouse, 1 high-energy dog (this was all in the past month)

Ending Weight 140 (what the heck?!)

I wanted to tell you that I have enjoyed your posts. I think we went to Calvin together. Did you graduate in ‘95? My maiden name was Postma.

Anyway, I also am training. Some meager stats on my part…

18 weeks of training

approx. 450 miles

2 pairs of shoes

one new long sleeved Nike shirt for the cold, cold days

multiple loops around Pine Rest for Thurs. AM tempo runs ( the only clear pavement in South GR area in February)

72 days of the alarm blaring before 5:45 am to run

72 power naps on the above days

507.34 miles between running outside and the bike–per the Garmin

Yet-to-be-counted miles from Athena, the Warrior Treadmill (but now I’m curious–good thing I logged them!)

2 new pair of Brooks

1 new lacing technique

4 pipes bursting, 3 plumbers to fix them

1 van that caught on fire

1 calf-a-chasing-us, 1 rooster-crowing-at-us, 1 mouse-trying-to-hide-from-us, 1 high-energy dog nipping at our heels for 3 miles, 1 cat in the distance (this was all in the past month with Julie!)…

…and 1 bird caught in my vent pipe from the range hood to the great outdoors (at least I hope it’s only 1 bird…)

5 GUs (66 Mike??? REALLY???)

1 sore heel, 1 cut toe, 1 leg compensating for all of that

10 great new friends (plus reconnecting with Mike D, of course!)

1 renewed RunGazelle membership
